Les communes et départements traversés par les épreuves automobiles prirent rapidement conscience des avantages touristiques qu’ils pouvaient en tirer. C’est dans ce but que fut organisée en 1898 la course Paris-Nice, suivie par une semaine automobile riche de plusieurs courses et concours ayant pour cadre la capitale de la Côte d’Azur. Cette manifestation fut un tel succès que vers 1910, les professionnels du tourisme de la principauté de Monaco observèrent que la cité de Garibaldi leur retirait une partie de leur clientèle, particulièrement pendant les mois d'hiver. Afin de remédier à cette situation préoccupante, la principauté décida d'organiser un rallye concurrent financé par la société des bains de mer. Ce fut la naissance en 1911 du Monté-Carlo qui prit petit à petit l' ascendant sur Paris Nice. The municipalities and the departments crossed by the automobile events quickly became aware of tourist advantages that they could pull it. It is in this purpose that was organized in 1898 the race Paris-Nice, followed by an automobile week rich in several races and competition having for frame the capital of Côte d'Azur. This demonstration was such a success as by 1910, the people working in the tourist industry of the principality of Monaco observed that the city of Garibaldi removed them a part of their clientele, particularly during the winter months. To remedy this worrisome situation, the principality decided to organize a rival rally financed by the company of the sea swimming. It was the birth in 1911 of Monté-Carlo which took little by little the influence on Paris Nice.On this photography we re-know Marc Chauvierre's personal sedan Z5, amateur pilot.
